DAY 2
What I did
at the beginning of the day I ascended from the new town and continued my journey finding more places and advancing in the game. I went to alot of towns and reks and got lots of stuff.
heres a picture of me with the seeker
as I was soaring through the air I got a picture of a town. check it out.
after lots of searching and doing a few favours for the first person I found I started to build my craft a little bit. heres a picture of my craft so far
What I learned
-harvesting trees is a great way to get wood.
-build storages so you can get more stuff.
-get a smelter so you can make iron ingots.
-also a workbench is good
-search everything thouroghly
Tips and Tricks
-When opening a chest, the fastest way I found to gather the stuff was to hold control and quickly click the item you want and its automatically placed in your inventory.
-during your loot hunt in the first town you will find a workbench to craft a stone axe, this will help you to harvest trees to get wood.
-there are a couple things you can eat that i have found to regain hunger. TIN, COOKED TIN, and CACTUS FRUIT
-heres an image of a tin, cooked tin, a live fish, a mushroom, and cactus fruit.

If you find that the seeker is chasing you, eat a cookie and you will be directed to the north pole. I havnt figured out how to deliver the presents yet but soon we will succeed.
next I will continue my journey and expand my aircraft and knowledge about the game.

game journalism day 1

Desert skies
this game is a survival/adventure game where you are stranded in the desert with nothing but your aircraft to get you places. when you first start the game you are spawned at a reck. you must find loot to be able to ascend with your craft. heres a picture of the area you spawn in.

once you ascend the balloon with automatically take you to the next town. MAKE SURE TO DESCEND or else you will fly right over the town. right now there is no way to control where u go in your aircraft so just let it do its thing. heres a picture of the town and what it looks like while your flying.

search around the town to find lots of loot. also go to the back left of the town and you will find a coal train. search the ground to pick up a piece of coal. look for things everywhere, search thoroughly. heres a picture of what your screen will be like when u find something.

my plan for the next hour will be continuing my search. I hope to ascend to another town and keep advancing in the game.

Sketchup lesson 4

so here is my creation of the first object that was made by him in the tutorial.(I didn't color it because I didn't know if we were suppose to.)

after I made that one I made my own. It really wasn't anything crazy im not gonna lie. anyway heres a couple screenshots of it when its done and one with writing on the side. I wrote datcha poodle on it because poodles are sick. and its a saying I say.

sketchup lesson 3

heres my cube I made, I wasnt sure if adding textures to the cube would throw something off in the 3d printer so I just colored it with normal colors.

sketchup lesson 2

heres my first Rubiks cube, on your blog you send colour it with marble texture but I searched through the colour options and i couldnt find a marble texture so I just used normal colours. anyway here it is
after I made the first one i kinda just pasted the first one and fiddled with it and added another column of squares to make the second one. still couldnt find the marble texture though.

sketchup lesson 1

I was very confused because the picture on your blog is different then what he did in the tutorial so i just did what he did in the tutorial and added my own colours.
heres the first pattern we were suppost to create with our blog. i added a tile texture to make it look like tiles.
heres the last pattern. it looks like its the same texture as the last one but its differnt.

8th hour of coding

and this is my 8th hour of coding. this is really getting old.... anyway i started this hour by starting a new lesson after finishing my last lesson. this lesson was looping. this lesson taught me how to repeat something over and over again. after watching a video to introduce myself to loops I started my first challenge which was to create a "loopy" ruler. at the top of the canvas it gave me a bunch of random numbers that i had to make evenly spread out at the top. I fixed these numbers by using a variable and a "while" code. after fiddling with the code and fixing the x axis line i had to do the same thing for the y axis. after doing it for the x axis it was easy for the y axis. here's the result.
after doing this challenge I went onto the next one. this was to basically do the same thing but for a "landscape. I did some code and moved the looped the landscape so it went across the bottom of the canvas. here's the end of that challenge
my next challenge was to create lined paper. this one was quiet easy actually. the program gave me the x axis lines so all I had to do was make the y axis lines. heres the finished product of the lined paper
to complete this lesson i had to do one last project and it was to build a house. the program gave me most of the house already all i had to do was make a loop for windows, and change the color of the house. this project was way more pleasent then the 8 ball. heres the finished product of the house
What i did this hour
start the "looping" lesson. and finish it.
specific things i learnt
learnt a couple lines of code to loop things like the "while" line.
what i will do next hour
hopefully nothing... just kidding. continue on the course of computer programming. only a couple more and im done!!!

7th hour of coding

I started this hour continuing the lesson "if statements and logic" my continuing challenge i have to complete for the lesson is to make a flashy flash card. what I had to do for this challenge was make a question for the flash card, and then make a line of code which whenever the card was pressed the card would show the answer. heres the screenshot of the flash card with the question on it.

after this challenge I was forced to make something disgusting.... it took way to long.. i was getting so frustrated with it actually because of how much code i had to write for it to work. I had to make an 8 ball that gave me yenno, a yes or a no answer, but the centre of the 8 ball was a button that changed colour and answer every time I clicked it. after about 45 minutes of getting pissed off i finally finished the challenge. heres a couple of screenshots of the result
and that concluded the hour because it took so damn long to finish that 8 ball.
I would do the titles but for the fact that this hour was kind of just finishing two challenges you can tell what i did. but I can tell you that next hour im definitly gonna try and not do as much on the final challenge of the lesson because i dont know if i just put alot of effort in it but I got super angry. anyway till next hour. peace.

6th hour of coding

at the beginning of this hour I moved on to the lesson "Logic and if statements" after watching my first video on if statements I was posed with a challenge to make a bouncing ball go up and down the canvas like it was bouncing. I did this by adding an "if statement" and using coordinates. heres the screenshot of me completing the challenge.
after i completed that challenge I immediately got into another challenge which basically made me make a paintbrush with my mouse out of circles. wherever i held my mouse and moved it, it would paint circles over and over again really quick to make it seem like it was a paintbrush. I didnt paint anything nice lol.

after i completed that challenge for "Logic and if statements" I continued onto my next challenge which was number analysis. basically this challenge was to make a statement which made a box around "positive, negative, or zero" depending on what number was posed. heres the result when i made the number negative
after that challenge I moved onto making my first button. all the button did was change color when i pressed it. the code proves it works i just didnt want to make videos of me clicking the button. heres the result
i finished all those challanges fairly quickly because they werent actually that hard so I decided to do five this hour. my next task was to make the button better. the button now wasnt the whole canvas. and my task was to make it so i had to press inside the box (the button) for it to do anything. heres the code and the button
and that concluded my hour of coding.
What i did this hour
moved onto "logic and if statements" lesson
Specific things i did
learn "if statements" also figured out how to make a button with inner coordinates
what i will do next hour
continue on my computer programming coding course

fifth hour of coding

In this hour I continued on my journey to complete computer programming. After I finished doing the text and strings lesson I went onto the next lesson which was functions. in this section I learnt how to make my code more reusable by grouping it into functions. after watching a quick video I started my first challenge which was to create "Hi Joel" on a randomly generated spot on the canvas. Heres the result
after completing that challenge I was asked to make moles show up in holes using functions. all i had to do for this one was make the function and call upon it so they showed up. this one was very easy.
now that I completed that challenge I went on to fixing math expressions. (not really) i had to make the calculator code do the right thing. the math was messing up because the functions werent writtin right. after I changed them the challenge was complete!
I was now off to my final challenge using functions. now Im not gonna lie to you I cheated on this one. all the requirements were was to make the lonely fish less lonely by adding more fish of different colours. so thats all I did. I drew some ellipses and added triangles to them to make fish. and BOOM I was done the hour

What I did this hour
continue computer programming by learning about functions.
Specific things I learnt this hour
create randomly generated text using functions. like "var moving"
What I will do next hour
i have now completed the functions lesson and will move onto the next lesson. (I haven't even checked what it is yet)

fourth hour of coding

In the beginning of this hour I continued learning computer programming. the next step in the course was to learn how to display text on the canvas. to do this i had to learn a couple things like learning the command "text" after learning that command I started my first challenge. it started easy by making me write a list of 3 of my favorite foods. heres what i chose for my foods!
My next challenge using text was to use mouse interactions and text. this challenge was to make an ellipse and wherever the mouse went the dot went. BUUUT wherever the dot went it would show the coordinated of the dot. to do this I just had to use what I learnt earlier in the course but add a text to it. heres the result! (btw my mouse was just at the bottom of the canvas when I used the snipping tool)
My last challenge in the text part of computer programming was to make an ad for anything! the requirements was to use three texts, and to try my best to create that thing. I also added a background cuz I could. heres my ad!
I only had about 10 minutes left so I decided to stop there. This hour was fairly successful as the course is getting harder. especially that mouse interaction one I don't know why I had so much
trouble on that one I just did.anyway.
What I did this hour
moved onto the text and strings portion of the course
Specific things I learnt
how to input text into the canvas using "text" and how to combine it with other commands
What I will do next hour
move onto the next lesson which is functions. I hope to finish that lesson but not sure as the codes are getting harder and longer

Third hour of coding

In this hour I moved on from variables to mouse interactions. this part of coding are ways for your mouse to change the image. to do this i had to use variables called "mouseX" and "mouseY". my first challenge to complete using mouse interactions was to take an apple and wherever the mouse went a white circle went through the mouse to make it look like its eating the apple. heres the code and the result of that first challenge.
after I finished that challenge I was proposed with another challenge that you had to use mouse interactions in another way. this challenge was to make many little circles that were a color that followed your mouse. I had to use a stroke command and more variables. here's what the result was. I wrote "poopy" out of the circles that were following my mouse.
after I learnt how to use code for mouse interactions the course threw at me a bonus part which was resizing shapes using variables. to do this I had to learn how to use math expressions in code.  in this challenge I had to make a variable so that the eyes of the brown bear moved and changed size at the same time. here's the result of the challenge
now that I learnt how to use math expressions and use variable i was posed with a challenge where i could make whatever animal i wanted out of the shapes they gave me. heres the shapes they gave me
and heres what I made of out them
and that concluded my third hour of coding.
Main parts I learnt during this hour
how to use mouse interactions with code, and how to use math expressions
Specific things I learnt
using variables like "mouseX and "mouseY" and using math expressions like "var earSize=faceSize*1/3;"
What I will do next hour
continue through the computer programming course. I think the next lesson is text and strings in code.
